Sculpting and Grooming a Career Fit For a Styling Genius: The Season 2 Shear Genius Stylists
Charlie studied under legendary runway stylists in New York and Milan and worked backstage at the shows of Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Prada and other big-name fashion designers. He has received numerous national and international awards for his work. Charlie co-owns Click Salon in Denver.
Daniel began doing his parents' hair at the age of nine. After graduating from cosmetology school, he trained in London and on a cruise ship in the Bahamas. He operated two salons in Florida and did freelance work around the country before settling in Dallas with his third salon, Green Peridot.
Dee started her career as a computer graphic artist for Paul Mitchell Distributor in Miami. Today she teaches and coaches other Paul Mitchell educators on the latest trends in cut and color. She also owns an educational service called Hair by Dee, and works at the Peter London Salon and Spa in Miami.
Gail entered college with plans to become doctor, but then realized her passion for the hair and beauty industry. She ended up graduating with a degree in business and attending cosmetology school. She went on to receive intensive training at a local Aveda Institute. She now works at Salon Lofts Grandview in Columbus, Ohio.
Glenn attended beauty school at a local community college. She runs her own Aveda Concept Salon called Red Jasper Spa in Decatur, Alabama. Glenn's work has been showcased in many trade and consumer magazines, and she's also worked as a hairstylist at New York Fashion Week.
Matthew studied at a cosmetology school in Dallas and trained at prestigious salons including Vidal Sassoon,Trevor Sorbie and Yosh Toya. Today he works with his wife of four years at his salon, Matthew Tully Hairdressing in Dallas.
Meredith says she was born to be a stylist. After a brief flirtation with fashion design school, she entered cosmetology school and went on to train at Vidal Sassoon, Aveda and Tony and Guy. Meredith currently works at Salon V in Chicago and is a top-ranked educator for the Aveda Corporation.
Nekisa attended beauty school while she was still in high school and graduated from the International Beauty Academy at the age of 18. She worked at several Bay Area salons before working her way up to Master Stylist at KellyAnn's Salon and Day Spa in Pleasant Hill, California. She now owns and operates Beauty Boutique Salon in Concord, California.
Nicole landed her dream job with renowned stylist Nick Arrojo in New York City after just four years as a stylist. She has placed in the top three at eight national hair competitions, and she travels the nation with the Arrojo creative team, teaching workshops and classes at major hair shows.
Oshun graduated at the top of his class in cosmetology school before moving to Hollywood and breaking in as a celebrity hair stylist at Black Entertainment Television (BET). His work on NBC's Passions earned him an Emmy nomination, and he has also worked on Grey's Anatomy, CSI: Miami and the feature film, Oceans 13. Oshun currently works as a personal hairstylist to the stars.
Parker started out as a sculptor before attending the Vidal Sassoon Academy. He went on to study under David K and later became the first stylist to graduate from the demanding Klinger Education Program at Klinger Advanced Aesthetics. Parker's styles have appeared in major magazines, as well as theater and television productions.
Paulo learned the Rusk Cutting Method from his mentors Irvine and Louise Rusk. After traveling the world with the Rusks, he opened his first salon at the age of 24. He now runs a loft salon called Ego Mechanix in San Jose, where he personally trains his staff and educates other aspiring hairstylists.
