Spa and beauty salaries can fluctuate depending on a number of factors. For example, you can work full time or part time in a wide range of settings, from luxury resort spas to small home salons. Where you practice, what kind of work setting you choose and the hours you work each week are just a few of these factors that can affect your income.

$15,000 - $45,000

Aromatherapy usually supplements an existing practice in massage therapy or another profession. However, there are aromatherapists who practice in private salons, natural food stores, holistic health clinics or as teachers, tutors or counselors.

Barber

$15,000 - $30,000

The average barber earns about $21,000 per year, including tips. The top 10 percent earn more than $43,000.

Colonic Therapist

$30,000 - $45,000

An individual colon hydrotherapy session may cost between $55 and $95. In most cases, clients will receive an initial series of between three and ten colon treatments.

Cosmetologist

$30,000 - $50,000

Salary range includes tips.

Electrologist

$25,000 - $50,000

Salary range estimated for full-time established electrologists.

Esthetician

$20,000 - $30,000

Experienced estheticians can make $50,000 or more.

Hair Stylist

$30,000 - $50,000

Salary range includes tips.

Make-Up Artist

$30,000 - $50,000

Salary range is for salon income and includes tips.

Massage Therapist

$10,000 - $60,000

The average massage therapist gives eight to 25 hours of massage per week. The low end of the range accounts for a part-time practice.

Nail Technician

$12,000 - $32,000

The average nail technician works 34.5 hours a week. The low end of the range accounts for part-time work.

Permanent Make-Up Artist

$55,000 - $85,000

Salary range estimates gross income, before costs such as equipment, supplies, insurance, marketing and rent.

Personal Fitness Trainer

$17,400 - $40,000

The average personal fitness trainer earns $25,500 per year. The top 10 percent earns more than $55,000.

Spa Therapist

$10,000 - $60,000

Salary approximates that of a massage therapist. The low end of the range accounts for a part-time practice.

Hot Stone Therapist

$10,000 - $60,000

Stone therapy is usually performed by a massage therapist. Salary approximates that of a massage therapist. The low end of the range accounts for a part-time practice.

Reiki Therapist

$15,000 - $50,000

Reiki therapists typically charge between $25 and $60 per hour of treatment. Reiki masters may earn additional income by teaching and lecturing. The low end of the range accounts for a part-time practice.

Reflexologist

$10,000 - $60,000

Salary approximates that of a massage therapist. The low end of the range accounts for a part-time practice.
